Kings of the Trail #006

Welcome to Kings of the Trail #006 – and thanks to all our new subscribers who have joined this week.

Two of our stories this week have the same focus but from a slightly different angle…The first looks at how and what we can do to try and live longer and another looks at what is possible, no matter your age – the incredible story of a 90-year-old gent crushing 100 milers!

We also look at some of the best trail running shoes for 2023 – seven of the best as picked by Runner's World.

Please follow our social channels and share this newsletter with anyone that you think may be interested!

More to come next week, but for now, enjoy this week's edition, be safe and enjoy the trails…

You may think that signing up for a triathlon or running an ultra would be the key, but you may be surprised at the answer!

During the lockdown, off-road adventure enthusiasts brought renewed energy to one of the world's fastest-growing sports.

With so many options, styles and versions of trail running shoes out there, Runner's World selects the seven best to help you choose.

With nine decades of life experience and several 100-mile finishes under his belt in the past five years, his sights are now set on completing a 200-miler.

Each week we will update our Kings of the Trail playlist with a new selection – just like trail runs or hikes, you can be sure that it will be a varied and eclectic journey, but hopefully, there will be something for everyone.

After last week's foot tapper, it's something slightly more chilled this week…one for the times you need to put your feet up and recover from the day's exertions. This relatively new artist is one to keep an eye on! Listen on Apple Music Listen on Spotify

Hitting the trail is hard work and recovery is an essential part of any training programme, so how about sitting back and taking a few moments to enjoy some fun?
