Kings of the Trail #010

Hello – I was fortunate when hiking to avoid any serious rain, but it made me wonder about the importance of having the right kit for the conditions you find yourself in and how it can shape your experience. To help keep you dry check out the article on what makes a great waterproof and how to get the right one for you. Additionally, what you choose to listen to on your runs or hikes (other than the Kings of the Trail playlist, of course!!) can have a big impact. I love music when running, but while hiking it’s all about the natural sounds for me.

Trail running can be daunting if you’re not used to getting out in the wild, so this week's first article covers any practical questions about trail running and how to get started…for the more experienced, there are several truly amazing giant peaks to plan on conquering in our final story.

As always, please follow our social channels and share this newsletter with anyone that you think may be interested.

More to come next week, but for now, enjoy this week's edition, be safe and enjoy the trails…

Are you interested in starting your adventure on the trails or have questions you have always wondered about? Here is your starter guide to trail running…

Personally, I love listening to DJ set podcasts for most of my runs, but take the chance to learn from spoken podcasts on my longer runs, while hiking is about bathing in the natural sounds…what’s your audio companion of choice?

With a little understanding, you can ensure you are wearing the right jacket for the conditions which can make a massive difference to your overall experience when out on the trails.

That marathon or trail ultra didn’t fulfil your thirst for a challenge? Check out these giants that anyone can climb!

Each week I update the Kings of the Trail playlist with a new selection – just like trail runs or hikes, you can be sure that it will be a varied and eclectic journey, but hopefully, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

This tack has it ALL! I instantly added this to my running playlist – with banging beats, shining guitars, a great riff, slamming vocals and a sing-along chorus…how could I not? Don’t worry little breakdowns give you a chance for a breather without any drop in tempo or vibe. Great track for when out running in the wild! Listen on Apple Music Listen on Spotify
