Kings of the Trail #012

This Sunday will see the streets of London flooded with thousands of runners in the 2023 TCS London Marathon…If you’re going to be one of them; best of luck and enjoy!
Kings of the Trail this week has an article encouraging you to take a moment before hitting the starting line to appreciate the hard work that goes into preparing for a big race…and races don’t come much bigger than the ones covered in our article about the most demanding ultras on the planet.
But…every journey starts with a first step and so for new trail runners, there are introductory ideas and thoughts to help get started and get out there in our first article. If you are in North America or planning to head that way soon, check out some of the bucket list adventures in the US in the final article.
As always, please follow our social channels and share this newsletter with anyone that you think may be interested.
More to come next week, but for now, enjoy this week's edition, be safe and enjoy the trails…

I have covered intro and beginner guides to trail running before, but believe it’s important to continue to share these articles in order to promote and encourage people to get out and explore. So enjoy!

…So why not take a moment pre-race to think about what you’ve gained from all the training – here are four things this writer learned from their marathon training experience.

Ultra trail races can be tough at the best of times, but these are some of the toughest endurance races out there. Prepare to feel tired from just reading.

Maybe add one or two of these incredible bucket list adventures across North America to your itinerary.

Each week I update the Kings of the Trail playlist with a new selection – just like trail runs or hikes, you can be sure that it will be a varied and eclectic journey, but hopefully, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
From the dramatic intro to the rolling beat, you know this will be a good one. Londoner, Little Simz has incredible lyrical talent and knows how to produce a track merging a deep musical journey with her lyrical flow to perfection, so, so, smooth…Nod your head and get lost in the rhythm…
