Kings of the Trail #019

Lists, lists, lists…we make them, cross items off them and then make more. Lists of what we have done, want to do, or don’t want to forget…I love a list. I am not ashamed to say it. So, it’s no surprise then that this week I have featured three articles with lists – one for ‘Incredible Hiking Trails’ and one for ‘International Trail Races’ as well as one with ‘Five Reasons you Should Run a Marathon’…that’s a lot of items to tick off but serves up some great inspiration if you are looking for a new challenge to add to your own ‘Bucket List’….

As regular readers will know, I love dogs and getting out in the wild with our pup companions, so the story of Noami Grevemberg and her dog, Amara, who together are not only living an adventurous life on the road but also campaigning for racial equality in the outdoors along the way, is a win-win article for me.

Please follow our social channels and share this newsletter far and wide with anyone that you think may be interested.

Until next week, be safe and enjoy the trails…

It remains the benchmark race to test yourself over a long, challenging distance, but it also remains achievable for most people. Here are five reasons you should give one of the most iconic race distances a go!

Two things I love, hiking and a list. This has them both — 25 of the most incredible hiking trails from a few hours to multiple-week adventures. Prepare to get wanderlust…

Have I mentioned that I love a list? Well, just in case you do as well, here is another list-based article – however, this one covers ‘10 International Trail Races Worth Travelling To…’

For Noami Grevemberg running started as a way to connect with herself and explore her ever-changing backyard all with her companion pup, Amara. However, it has also become a powerful tool in the fight for racial equity in the outdoors. It’s become a way for her to connect with herself, nature, and her community.

Each week I update the Kings of the Trail playlist with a new selection – just like trail runs or hikes, you can be sure that it will be a varied and eclectic journey, but hopefully, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

I dare you to not click and check this track out once I have given you a little flavour and background of the band involved…for starters, this is their first album in 39 years! Their name, W.I.T.C.H. is an acronym for ‘We Intend To Cause Havoc’ and they pretty much own the genre of ‘Zamrock’. It also absolutely crushes it and is a great beat and sound to run to. Enjoy.
