Kings of the Trail #021

Just Do It…Go For It…Seize the Day….He Who Dares Wins…there are many ways and versions to say the same thing, but certain sayings ring true for a reason. The benefits and positives of being active, especially surrounded by nature, are many and well-documented. So this edition of Kings of the Trail is dedicated to getting up and doing it.
Whether it is finding a new and exciting trail in the urban environment, maybe pushing harder and faster through the introduction of interval sessions…or not fearing being different from the usual outdated stereotypes of runners and hikers, but getting out there to enjoy, celebrate and open up the outside world while giving the courage to others to do the same. Read on to learn about and cheer the people and ways to ‘Just Do It’…
Please follow our social channels and share this newsletter far and wide with anyone you think may be interested.
Until next week, be safe and enjoy the trails…

The World Mountain & Trail Running World Championships held at Innsbruck-Stubai provided a perfect opportunity to study how competitors are kept safe and monitored throughout this gruelling Alpine challenge allowing them to complete to their highest level.

Trail running is largely made up of endurance, mental toughness and consistency, but the benefits of spicing up your training with various interval sessions are huge and should be included in your running routine.

Thanks to groups like the Outdoorist Oath, outdated stereotypes are being challenged and replaced with a focus on inclusion and intersectionality, demonstrating that nature truly belongs to everyone…

Urban trails are much better than urban tails…for a start, these routes are real and ready to explore. If you find yourself in one of these cities, what better way to exercise and get a tour of the local sights and sounds – as well as a wonderful chance to clear your head!

Each week I update the Kings of the Trail playlist with a new selection – just like trail runs or hikes, you can be sure that it will be a varied and eclectic journey, but hopefully, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
I usually include a newer track here, something that might be from a new artist or even a different style to the usual musical roulette we hear every day, but this week, I have gone for a classic. A straight-up, foot-tapping, sing-along, get-up-and-move, classic. As the Godfather of Soul tells you; “Get on the Good Foot…” This is music to get you up and out on the trails with a spring in your step!
