In the Northern Hemisphere, summer is well and truly underway. The temperature is rising and so is the fun. There have been so many films, songs, books and poems focused on summer sunshine; the fun, adventure and brighter outlook it can bring with it, so let’s get out there and make the most of it. But, as tragic recent events have shown, there are also dangers that come with higher temperatures and drier ground, so be careful however you enjoy your sunny season.

Put on whatever you are comfortable wearing and prepare to hit the trails for adventures in the summer heat, it’s going to get hot and sweaty! Running, hiking, dealing with sand, and how to prepare for races in high temperatures…it’s all in this week’s Kings of the Trail…

Getting used to safely exercising in the heat can bring great results to your fitness as well as other fantastic benefits.

Running on sand can look so easy and carefree, the ocean next to you, the sounds and smells around you…but the reality is running on sand is hard! Learn how to do it safely and maybe, actually enjoy it next time.

Each week I update the Kings of the Trail playlist with a new selection – just like trail runs or hikes, you can be sure that it will be a varied and eclectic journey, but hopefully, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
