“After you have exhausted what there is in business, politics, conviviality, love, and so on—have found that none of these finally satisfy, or permanently wear—what remains? Nature remains; to bring out from their torpid recesses, the affinities of a man or woman with the open air, the trees, fields, the changes of seasons—the sun by day and the stars of heaven by night.”
Walt Whitman
There is a certain timeliness to this quote…in the Northern Hemisphere, we are moving through Spring with its longer days and (hopefully) sunnier weather…in the Southern half of our world, it’s transitioning into Autumn and the last chances to get out and about before it gets chillier. On top of that, around the globe, people are celebrating Easter this weekend and have the chance to take a few days off to recharge and take a break from life’s hustle and bustle. All of this provides us the opportunity to leave behind the ‘business, politics, conviviality’ of our day-to-day lives and get out in nature, immerse ourselves in the outside world and reinvigorate our souls with the beauty around us. Get out there and absorb the ever-changing sights and sounds of our natural world…that is where the magic is…and with that, I am going to take my leave and head out the door…
Until next week, be safe and enjoy the trails...

This track weaves in snippets of people talking about how they felt and what they experienced during moments of pure happiness and joy. Then a driving beat kicks in and the vocals start to lift up the tune. During a recent run, this track helped me find the flow and experience the same sensations the people describe. What a feeling…
