"Just remember, you can't climb the ladder of success with your hands in your pockets.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger

As we are now over a week into the new year, I am sure there is a little fatigue over quotes about new starts, planning ahead, what you can do to make this the best year…so instead, I have chosen this gem from the ‘Austrian Oak’, Mr Arnold Schwarzenegger himself. For me, it really captures the need to get out, get it done and not sit back and wait for things to happen to you. All of these attitudes are vitally important in achieving success in whatever you want to…and Arnie should know about how to get to the top, as he has done it in at least three completely different fields. Some big plans are in the works this year for Kings of the Trail, so I will be keeping this quote in mind as I push to achieve my goals and aims for the 12 months ahead. I hope you reach your personal targets, whatever they may be…

Until next week, be safe and enjoy the trails...

Each week, I update the Kings of the Trail playlist with a new selection of music. Like trail runs or hikes, the playlist will be varied and eclectic, but hopefully, there will be something for everyone to enjoy…

Scouting For Girls, believe it or not, are an English band. This surprised me as their sound is pretty steeped in California pop-rock. Regardless of where they hail from, their new album is set for release in March and the lead single is out. It’s a beauty. I love the messaging behind the lyrics, the lush piano and sun-licked guitar arrangement…not to mention the soulful harmonies thrown in too to give it a light and optimistic vibe…perfect to start the year off on a positive note...
