"Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths.”
Arnold Schwarzenegger
As the runners at UTMB continue to push themselves around Mont Blanc this week, they will need to dig deep and navigate the course, the weather and the numerous other challenges that might present themselves while traversing sections of the French, Swiss and Italian mountains. This is not the kind of strength that has happened by accident or through quick fixes, miracle new ideas or some new technology, but the kind that has been built over many months, miles and hard yards of showing up and doing what is necessary. Most of us aren’t lining up in Chamonix any time soon, but we can develop the same mental and physical robustness to help us get through our own daily challenges. The struggles we face, when handled right, can help us grow stronger and more resilient and ready to overcome life’s obstacles…
Until next week, be safe and enjoy the trails...

After the excitement of last week’s Prince track (for me, anyway) here is a chilled electronic tune to get us through those tough moments when we need to dig deep…a solid, pumping beat, smooth vocals and some choral like harmonies make this one a good listen, when out on the trails or when you just need to sit back and get a bit lost…”leave your worries and troubles behind, it ain’t over”…
Each week, I update the Kings of the Trail playlist with a new selection of music. Like trail runs or hikes, the playlist will be varied and eclectic, but hopefully, there will be something for everyone to enjoy…
