"Never do things others can do and will do if there are things others cannot do or will not do.”
Amelia Earhart
On first reading this quote I thought of big, incredible challenges people achieve. I thought of the records and FKTs people manage in a range of sports and pursuits. I thought of the heroes and personalities of the world. But I thought more about it. Then it hit me. Small, possibly unimpressive acts that when applied consistently and diligently can add up to results equally impressive as the world’s feted stars and sporting role models. Doing this also takes courage. And the ability to do things others can’t and will not do, because even though everyone has that ability in them, not everyone can commit. Each week I update the Kings of the Trail playlist with a new selection – just like trail runs or hikes, you can be sure that it will be a varied and eclectic journey, but hopefully, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
Curtis Harding is smooth. Very smooth. This track has not only a great groove and sound, but he also sings about ‘rolling on’, all of which make it a perfect choice for this week’s selection. If you just don’t feel like it and can’t get motivated, put this on and keep rolling on…
